Private Chevy Collection Viewing?

Postby WrenchHead » Aug 11 2008 08:31:37 am

Did any of you go down to Ankeny and see Dennis Albaugh's collection of Chevy cars?

I didn't go, and was wondering if anyone saw it and took some photos. I think he lives in Florida, but has the cars in Iowa.

I get to get a private showing of them in a couple weeks, I will take pictures then. If you want to see some pictures from his collection look here:

The rumor I'd always heard was that he had a convertible Chevy from every year. So it looks like it's mostly true, haha.

you could be impressive too if you had billions of dollars!

But, I agree, quite a collection.

I honestly don't love any one car enough to collect them in that manner. If I had a billion dollars, I'd have the weirdest shit you ever saw.

Hovercrafts powered on human farts or something outlandish.

The man has good taste. Not only does he have a Z06, he has a Ron Fellows Z06.

is this some sort of a museum with an entrance fee etc? or is his personal collection in a personal garage/warehouse free to be viewed at select times of the year?

Last week was the first time he opened up his home for public viewing in order to raise money for the Ankeny school system. I think he expected to make 5000 dollars, but ended up bringing in 30000 dollars.

It is his personal collection, he has more cars but he can't fit them all in anymore (I know what that feels like). He is going to be expanding so he can bring in all the cars he has stored around the country.

And no you cannot see them, you missed your chance.
