OI Notepad is simple.

I am trying andronoter right now. It synces up with Simplenote (an online note thinger). The plus is that your note is synced to their website automatically so you can interact with them on a computer. The downside is it takes an extra second or so for it to load up.

i've been playing the shit outta wordfeud. it's scrabble that you can play against your friends in real time. games take a while because we play in spare time at work or whenever, so games take a day or so, but it's fun as shit. free version is the same as the pay version but has some ads, but way better than $4 or whatever. if you get it/have it. add me "fiddelke". yesterday i played 3 different games at the same time. it was awesome.

I've spent $17.92 + €10.48. I've been buying apps more frequently lately, but I'm also paying $40 less per month on my phone bill compared to last year.

Picsay Pro: Way awesome photo editor

Mototorch LED Donation: It was just 99 cents and the dev put a bunch of good features into it (this was before cyanogenmod had the torch toggle ability in the notification bar)

BeyondPod Unlock Key: Unlocked the podcast player beyond the 7 day free trial. Up until recently I was sure this was the best podcast player on android.

SetCPU: duh

ROM Manager Premium: duh

Titanium Backup Pro: duh

Doggcatcher: bought it to test out for an article I was writing, tried to return it after 16 minutes :-/ But really I think it is possibly better than beyondpod. The 15 minute trial thing still stings a bit.

I use the physical keyboard a lot more than the touch screen. Call me old-fashioned, but I'm just a lot better with actual keys than the touchscreen. The keyboard is actually pretty good.

The phone is good, but US Cellular is currently locked into Android 2.1-update 1. According to the sales reps, some of their phones had 2.2 but were recalled due to being very buggy. I forget which one my mom has, but it has 2.2 and seems to work just fine. You can get the Apex from other providers as the Ally (since they're the same phone, but with slightly altered face buttons), and everyone else seems to have 2.2.

At this stage, factory reset. When I say unlock, I mean the swipe screen lock. Without the touchscreen working, it's a bit hard to unlock the phone. By a bit hard I mean impossible.

What's your evidence for the hardware slowing? What sort of stuff are you seeing happen?

Sometimes when I want to call someone, it seems like the phone takes forever to respond and turn into a phone.

Meanwhile, using it as a facebook, twitter, craigslist machine, it completely rocks.

i grabbed the cheapish 3 pack of screen covers when i got my droid 1. megan and i each used one, and i probably have the third one around somewhere, it's never been scuffed enough that i want to replace it. not that mine would fit your phone, but for under $10 the basic ones at the verizon store work well. then for a case get whatever feels/looks good.

after a year of living in my pocket which sometimes fills up with sand, my screen itself has no scratches on it. The metal frame around it has dents in the corners and the black paint has come off of it. My T and R keys both don't work on the slide out keyboard and haven't since last May.

My next phone I'll try to get one with a better camera. I am jealous of that 8mm movie app for iphone

i have a weird contacts issue.

i have a person in my phone that doesn't show up in my contacts list but if i search for his name, all his info comes up. and nothing changes when i try to add him, he is for lack of a better word, hidden. not sure how to resolve this. anyone else had something similar or have suggestions?

I was missing a contact last weekend.. went to text someone and they weren't in my phone... I most recently would have talked to them in October too. My facebook password changed, and it made me 're import' all that crap..I should have opted not to.. I have a suspicion it was related to that.

Sorry I'm really, really late on this but I'm just reading through old posts.

FWIW after getting rid of/shutting down two apps (facebook and gmail updating) the battery life of my droid X is now north of two days. Only light browsing, texting, occasional phone calls of course. I run my phone dead fairly often because it's not even routine for me to plug it in every other night.

I really couldn't be happier with this phone. Well, i could be, but as I work in a giant tin can I can't complain about spotty reception in a particular building.

I had a ton of problems with contacts randomly not showing up. Ended up having to take it in to VZW and they couldn't figure it out either. They tried a factory reset, but a few months later it started happening again so they ended up just giving me a new phone. Hopefully you're not having the same bizarre problem!

It only mutes when you mute the phone.

Sound mode and vibrate mode both leave you with that embarrassing shutter sound every time you hold it under the stall door in a women's bathroom.

On full mute, it is silent. On other modes it's always the same level of intensity for sound.
