She does. It favored Facebook. I even split them and tried recombining them. No dice.

What's the most difficult type of customization you've ever done to your computer?

I built my last one, and aside from my cheapo graphics card burning itself out after a few months, it still works fine.

Well, now that I re-read the past few pages, the only reason I can think to bother is if I really really want to be able to tether or to increase my 3G speed. And right now, I don't particularly care about either.

Though if there are other reasons to bother, I'm all ears.

That can't possibly be true; it is not an iphone.

I got jumped on by people last week making fun of my droid because they all had iphones. I don't give a shit what people say, the thing is a 80% replacement for having my laptop computer with me. In fact, I leave my laptop at home when I travel now.

Official Droird 2.1 update link. So, for Tom or Wrenchead or any others that haven't flashed a custom ROM, you can download that to the root of the SD card on your phone, rename to update.zip, boot to recovery mode, and flash the update before the OTA prompt.

the browser will only download files when you have an app installed that can open the type of file.

get this:
Image

You DO NOT use astro to actually extract the zip file. just to get the browser to download it. Once you do that, rename it to just "update.zip" and put it into /sdcard (without any other directory)

1. Power off the phone
2. Hold down the x key on the keyboad and hit the power button.
3. Continue holding x until the screen shows an exclamation mark.
4. Hit the camera button and the volume up button and a menu should appear.
5. Choose Update from update.zip and let it do its thing.
6. Reboot the phone if it doesn't automatically after it finishes the flash.
7. Profit.

Together; should just be a single press needed. Alternatively, I have held volume up and then hit the camera button with success.

There's an app (ROM manager) which will flash everything for you, but I think that requires rooting your phone.

Ever since I flashed the update, Google Listen has stopped refreshing my podcasts automatically (or manually). What's weird is that Listen is fed from Reader, and the podcasts are still pouring in fine on Reader.

What's more, if I go into an individual podcast, I can refresh in there... I just can't refresh all my podcasts at once like I normally could.

I had something similarly bizarre happen with the News and Weather program. The app would stop retrieving weather for no obvious reason.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

Man, I'd flash the update, but it sounds like the new build broke Helix Launcher2, which means I'd lose the persistent shortcuts. Going to hold off until that gets fixed, unless something big gets added.

Did battery life get better with 2.1? I passed out on the floor at 10:30 PM with my phone in my pocket and now that I've scraped myself up I noticed my phone has 60% battery life and hasn't been on the charger for more than 24 hours with regular calls and game playing during pooping...

Sprint people:

http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/04/ ... te-is-may/

It is going from bad to worse for HTC Hero owners. After the initial delays of the 2.1 Android update, we told you yesterday that the update was finally due at the end of this month – until Sprint released a fresh statement today that is.

As reported from Phandroid, the carrier sent out an internal memo today, in which they acknowledged that their customers are patiently awaiting the arrival of the update.

However, they informed us that the update for the HTC Hero, as well as the Samsung Moment will now be available early May.

Is it worth asking how Sprint customers feel at the moment? We thought the 2.1 update saga would be finally over this month, but now the pending update will be dragged into the first weeks of May.

Not too good is it?

sums it up for me quite well.

http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/04/ ... d-2-1-rom/

A few days ago we informed you that the Android 2.1 update for Sprint’s HTC Hero and Samsung Moment had been pushed back until May, however someone has posted a leaked version of the Android 2.1 ROM for the Moment on Sdx-Developers.

Now that a lot of users have had a chance to test out the ROM we have a list of pros and cons, which the update brings, no doubt some of the cons will be eliminated before the official release is pushed out by Sprint.

On the whole most people who have installed the leaked ROM seem happy, apparently the overall UI is improved, also the camera is said to be much better also battery life seems to be improved.

As for drawbacks there are a few bugs, most annoyingly the handset can ring when you turn it on (however this is just due to the handset preparing the memory card), also Google Maps is not as accurate as before, finally there are no live wallpapers.

There are more pros and cons, however they are listed on Sdx-Developers’ forums, which is currently a 16-page thread.

Is there any way to go back to the old photo gallery? I don't like how this new version is slow and orders photos from oldest to newest, having me wade through 11,000 photos to get to the one I just took.

Also, my camera is WAY slow now as is Vignette. And it has focusing issues again..

Also, how come my droid still has the slide up arrow tray on the bottom rather than the house icon like this guy's

layout quality is great. rendering speed is horrible. UI is very basic; no pinch zooming, only 2 zoom levels, softkeys do nothing, virtual keyboard issues, scrolling is slow and breaks. It is an alpha, after all.
