Best selection of music for testing speakers

Postby nithos » Jul 30 2012 09:41:52 pm

I am looking for a wide selection of music that can be used for testing some speaker installations. I would like to get several songs from a wide range of genres, so the field guys will have something on hand that any client would be familiar with.

I will have to double check if the systems even have subs. These are more along the lines of in-wall speakers.

I would personally use something like Metallica's S&M and Alice In Chains Unplugged, but I need to expand the library a bit for the end audience.

I remember in the 90's cars would come with audo demo discs (and before that, tapes) to show off their speakers. I think I might have one somewhere...

Somewhere deep in my audio crap pile is an extended THX test. It's about 2 minutes long and tested each channel. I haven't used/played it in years, but it was cool to try out on people audio systems.
