I never used DS friend codes, but I guess a Wii Number is how you add buddies.

here's mine:

To find your Wii number, go from the main Wii channels menu, click on the 'Wii message board' button in the lower right-hand corner of the screen, then 'Create Message' and finally 'Address Book'.

Then, to register a member's Wii number, just hit 'Register' and 'Wii'.

Also, if you go under Mii Plaza and choose "Mii Parade" you can set your Miis to travel to other systems. After you pick travel you need to go and edit each individual Mii and choose "Mingle" if you want to have that one go to other systems.

I've got a lot of Miis now from everyone. The funniest thing: zoom out on your Mii screen and keep arranging your Miis into different groups. Eventually one of them will trip while running around.

I have a lot of movie character Mii's, most look shitty, some aren't half bad. My favorite Mii is Walter Sobchek.

Gotta represent the Big Lebowski on the bowling. I probably have like 16-18 Mii's after the holidays, creating family members and what-not.

What can I do right now by hooking up my Wii to the net other than trade Mii's, look up weather/news, and download games/updates? Are the downloaded games multiplayer online/will they be?

I don't think they've done anything with online multiplayer, and I don't really expect they will. So far what I've seen is they're straight ROMs.

Wii sports already uses the wiimote for golf. I don't see how Mario Golf won't.

Golf is actually kind of fun. So is boxing. And bowling.

Super Swing Golf comes out in a couple weeks, looks like a hot shots rip off from Tecmo. Seems to be somewhat deep, as there is a story mode and you can earn money to buy clubs and gear (clothes and what not). I think it was a computer game originally.

From what I hear the backswing provides your power, the front swing provides how much power you actually get as well as the accuracy of the hit. I'm hoping it will be decent, as it might hold me over til Mario Golf arrives (which since they have not announced it yet so might be awhile). Especially considering Strikers is on the way, and there will most likely be a Mario Tennis and Baseball in the mix somewhere among other possible Mario sports.

I'd rather have the return of Little Mac, Bald Bull, Soda Popinski, Bear Hugger, Piston Honda and maybe even Glass Joe (after nearly 20 years of training he has gotten decent and ressurected his career a la Hector Commacho or George Foreman!). He could hold the Minor Circuit belt, and be like Rocky Balboa. :lol:

Seeing little mac in Fight Night Round 2 made me a sad panda, as it made me realize Punch Out has been gone for 2 going on 3 generations now. :cry:

Mario Boxing would probably not feel very much like a boxing game, as they'd have all sorts of wierd shit going on (turtle shells, pirhana plants, fire, etc.). And if they do, why not make Toad a playable character??? He gets the shaft in a lot of games (mario golf, smash bros.).

Also, I don't know if anyone has had any luck with this, but I can't seem to connect to my wireless network. I'm sharing it from my Mac G5 and it sees the signal just fine, and I don't have any encryption or firewall or anything up, but it still won't connect.

Nintendo suggests changing the router to use channel 1 or 11. Have you tried that? I actually changed my neighbors router to channel 1 just so I could use wireless. I'm sure they'll never notice.

I still haven't got my wii to recognize my wireless network very well yet. It'll download patches, and the weather and news channels work, but shop and add friend codes doesn't work.

Have you try reconfiguring your router to run on a different channel (I think Nintendo recommends 1 or 11)? I was having network problems until I changed that.
