Gogamer.com is having a red Friday sale. They have GTA IV for PC for 34.90 plus $3 shipping. They also have other deals, but nothing I was interested in.

i found that picking up the numerous player/fan made mods that are all over the net made that game more than playable. it's really fun when you incorp. the mods.

I picked up Gears of War and Halo 3 for $19.98 Canadian (~$17 US) on Boxing Day, which is basically their Black Friday the day after Christmas.

Wow. CC is closing now. I wish there was one in the area; I have a buddy who wants to get his hands on a cheap CoD4, and I'd like to see what other gaming deals they have if they're trying to sell off stock.

The Circuit City near me jacked up there prices before taking discounts. A few weeks after they started going out of business they had there stuff more expensive than your average electronic store. They had PS3 greatest hits games marked at $60 with 30 or 40% off! They also had their TV prices marked up, which meant their "clearance" prices were more expensive than their normal price.

Holy shit. The Max Payne games are worth it alone. After watching Max Payne (blu-ray), the only thing that movie did was make me want to install both Max Payne games again.

Why? What's the harm? Some people don't use RSS and would still probably appreciate a friendly heads up if there's a noteworthy game sale going on.

As an interested reader of this thread, I consider (only) reposting Steam's sales announcements tantamount to drive-by posting. It increases the noise by repeating something most people who care about PC gaming (and don't mind Steam) are already aware of.

Picked up the $99 Arcade deal that Walmart.com had Saturday morning. Not sure if I will sell my launch unit after it gets back from repair or just put it on the basement TV.

The general concensus that I got over on Slickdeals was only buy Used from Hastings, never Previously Viewed.

I am still 4-5 deep on 'unopened' games at home, so I had to talk myself out of buying 4-5 more games that I will never get the time to play.

Same boat for me nithos. I want to get Bioshock and Mass Effect, but not knowing when I would actually get around to playing should really be enough to stop that purchase. I buy too many games that I stop playing part way through. That's a habit I should stop.

Right. Apparently, Hastings has higher standards on what they will accept for a used trade-in and what they are willing to rent out.

Mass Effect was one of the few games that I played through the complete story. It's worth the bargain bin pick up. Bioshock is on my list but I want to knock out a couple more games first.

Is it just me, or has there been very few good gaming deals online this year? I was hoping to pick up Arkham City, Gears of War 3, Assassin's Creed: Revelations (Xbox360) and Skyrim (PC) for a decent price. The best I've seen online has been $40 for the XBox games, and $52 for Skyrim. I know Best Buy had slightly better in-store deals this past weekend for some of these, but the combination of paying sales tax + dealing with crowds just wasn't worth it.

Oh well, maybe I'm just expecting too much. I have backlog of games I need to finish anyways.

Pretty sure all of those but Skyrim could have been had for ~$30 at some point this weekend. Amazon ran lightning deals on all of them at some point. Problem is that those tend to get sold out in less than 2 minutes. Pretty sure I saw Skyrim somewhere for about $40 through one of the digital download services, too.

Guess I spoke too soon - Arkham City is $30 and Gears of War 3 is $34 on Amazon right now.

I'm the only one on ST that hasn't played it, but Arkham City is fifteen bucks on Steam. And Asylum GOTY is under seven bucks.
