I thoroughly enjoyed Limbo which came out last July on XBL. Also, Fallout: New Vegas is a blast, it was out last October, and if you enjoy the series, Fable III also came out in October, it was enjoyable, but not really my style.

I'd suggest Crysis 2. Best FPS for a non-militaryshooterfag like myself since Farcry 2.

really? I don't see the connection here.

most fps are pointless war power fantasies, crysis 2 (while having a shitty plot with wooden characters) is fun for departing from pure gun-faggotry against [real-life enemy stand-in X]

asscreed strikes me as more of a puppet-show character fantasy than a thematic game presenting challenge and reward (roughly equivalent to New Prince of Persia)

dude, challenge and reward in video games is so 2002.

asscreed is thematic as hell though, have you never played it? at least the first game i really enjoyed the plot, and the general setting and scenery (i.e. theme) is really enjoyable in the others as well.

I've played it. I'm not saying it's not thematic, I'm just saying it's not the game I imagine it could be (that I would find more fun than what AssCreed delivers).

I downloaded the Back to the Future adventure game this weekend. It did a really good job of re-creating the feel of the movies, and they got Christopher Lloyd to do all the Doc parts. The story was pretty good too but I think they made the puzzles a little too easy. I did cheat a couple times and I never felt like I didn't figure something out, but rather that they had designed a stupid non-obvious puzzle. Anyway, it's $25 for the first "season" which is five episodes, and I've just finished the first 2.

Very true, but I'm a lover of the genre, so I'm always hoping for the next great experience. My goal is to make the ultimate (ok, maybe just not crappy) adventure game.

Started playing episode 3. They f'd up the timeline and now they're in an alternate Hill Valley, that's kind of like what Medium Dave would consider his Utopia.

I signed up for the free first episode, but never got around to playing it. They did send me a $5 off Coupon Code (SBP-ATH-8M6) for anyone interested in playing it. Not sure if it's one use or tied to my account.

New MK's story mode is pretty hot shit. They seamlessly transition in and out of 3-D cutsceney plot points between the 2D-planar fights thanks to the Unreal engine. I'm on chapter 6 (Jax) now.

Wow, this PSN shit is bananas. At first I was trollin' my PS3friends about it because lol no online gaming, but the fact that personal information may have been compromised is pretty not funny. I'll be interested to see how this all plays out once they pinpoint the guilty parties.

Nah, it's still pretty troll-worthy. It's one thing to have a security breach (which is bad), but to wait a whole week before informing your customers that their personal information and probably credit card info has been divulged is incompetence.

I'm not saying Sony shouldn't be ashamed of this debacle, but it's in pretty poor taste to make fun of someone who may have just had their credit card information and/or passwords stolen from them through no fault of their own.

On the one hand, I will be pissed if anything happens with the card I have on file. Fortunately, the card has 50 bucks on it, so they can't do much with it. Cancellation is easy.

On the other hand, if my various account informations are in danger... well, my online gaming records are pretty abysmal, with the exception of rocking the world's balls off at Pac-Man CE DX, Tetris, and Rock Band 3. No biggie.

see LTE rant.

the game has a lot going for it. the parkour stuff from mirror's edge, teamwork and classes from tf2, and what looks like a very snappy classic FPS feel. very anti-modern warfare. everything bad i've read (and general reviews are fairly bad) has been from the perspective of a dumbass that thinks cod4 is the greatest game of all time, and is entirely from the console perspective. hardcore pc fps players all seem to love it.

anyways, gonna buy it, try it out tonight.

well, after an hour or so of some coop+bots (the "single player"/coop shit is weird, they just dropped bots in, and they're bad)

i can 100% see why pathetic console fps players would hate this game. it's snappy and fluid, which is the last thing a console player wants. it's very obvious from playing it that it's a PC game ported to consoles, unlike the unfortunate majority of games that are console games ported to PC. it very much feels like FEAR mixed with TF2. it has moving objectives and a little bit of complexity that makes it immediately inaccessible to the legions of mongoloid retards that play fps on consoles.

No, really, I just think they look interesting and as much as I'm not interested in most of the games for Kinect (though the workout one sounds interesting), the ability to control the XBox with voice and hand-based navigation sounds like something I would get a lot of mileage out of.

I kinda want to check out Duke and Alice and Deus Ex and Red Faction and Rage, but I'm not really in any hurry, probably won't buy them until the price goes down a bit unless people are shitting themselves over them in the reviews. Also eagerly awaiting announcement of the LA Noire GOTY that bundles everything together so I can finally pick that up. My next must-haves are Skyrim and Arkham City, which are both due this fall.

Someone let me know if I'm missing anything important.
