Getting close to the end of Deus Ex: HR. Has anyone else finished it? This almost flew under my radar, but I've been having a lot of fun with it. I wish I had known how easy it would be to get Praxis points/kits in the beginning, because I probably would've done my Augs in a different order and tried to Ghost the whole game. Probably won't replay it though, with Arkham City releasing really soon.

I'm not particularly impressed by the "in-engine trailer" disclaimer, but this is a new announcement from Naughty Dog:

In engine is important if you really want to know what the game will look like when you play it.

I get that, but I'm not dubious of what they've accomplished here. Saying "no rly, we did this on a PS3" makes me respond internally with "I sure hope so, I wasn't skeptical before you said that"

Yeah, also known as a YLOD.

Even better: I can't get my Asura's Wrath disc out with the fan-cycling trick.

Anyone know if Sony's proprietary filesystem hashes the hard drive to specific PS3 models?

Oh yes, it does indeed hash per-model. I've also lost all my save game data!

Skyrim is much less valuable to me now. :?

None of the PS3 hackers have developed a decrypting or resigning tool?

edit: Doing some googling, I see Sony has a data transfer mechanism but it requires the old PS3 to be functional. dag.

Nothing that would survive the next system software update. :bignotawesome:

Much improved state of affairs!

My wife found and applied this YouTube knowledge

which got it to boot long enough for us to get the disc ejected before YLOD'ing again. Then she took the hair-dryer to it AGAIN (twice as hard, HEAT ALL THE THINGS, etc.) and we let it sit for ten minutes.

The result?

A little over 13 hours later, we've successfully copied all the old data (including a few hand-ripped movies, and all the copy-protected game saves) to a brand-new hopefully-not-yet-dead slim. :bigpacaweseome:

I'll buy those and never play them :bigunawesome:

Wonder Boy III: Dragon's Trap is basically my favorite 16-bit diablo-predecessor.

I had Wonder Boy in Monster land for the original Sega. I don't think I ever beat that final level even though I tried countless times I never knew the secret and would eventually get lost.

Oops, favorite 8-bit. Ancient game is ancient.
