The last fight of Act II was a lot of fun, I thought. A friend and I farmed it 6 or 7 times before moving on to Act III, which has also been a lot of fun... dinged 32 last night and I'm loving the monk. Anyone else playing one? Sweeping Wind + Cyclone Strike ftw

Yeah, I am playing a monk. Just got to act 3. The 7-point attack thing is really fantastic.

Shit went down during a boss fight on me last night, was down again when I got up this morning. I've been doing a lot of single player and it is annoying as hell.

At the risk of ruining the economy for everyone, you can clear a 10-to-1 profit by abusing the town merchants + Auction House. Login/logout until they have a really high-statted item, then buy as much of it as you want. Turn around & post them all on the AH. This is especially profitable if you just crossed into the higher difficulty levels.

Lather, rinse & repeat.

I find it better to buy/sell from the AH directly. The prices are better than vendor and items with proper stats are often massively underpriced.

I picked up a legendary bow this morning for a quick 100k profit.

Hell mode: Get the rare packs close enough to the waypoint to chain wipe/rez but not so close that they instantly kill you when you port in. Bonus points if you can leave them in a kite-able area.

no confirmed blue posting but there was def some shenanigans during maintenance today...

quickening def was nerfed/fixed (only triggers on single target abilities)

people are claiming inferno is easier on melee, thinking maybe the 30% damage reduction wasn't being applied properly until today

wizards might or might not have their force armor nerfed... but really if they haven't yet... they should, you shouldn't be able to solo inferno with 5k hp...

Most oranges/set pieces are pretty worthless.

Rings/Amulets can be awesome. Weapons are pretty terrible in general. Other gear is hit and miss. I'm using legendary pants/chest that increase run speed, normally only available on boots.

They designed a game with interesting and broad stats, only to reward stacking the primary stat as high as possible.

Just FYI, the last difficulty in this game currently boils down to being a melee class and farming act 1 or being a twitch ranged class, stacking damage and kiting. I'm doing pretty well in Inferno act 3/4 as a demon hunter but a single hit from an enemy instantly kills me. It's pretty much instagib. I love instagib.

They say they're working on the damage spikiness, but even on my Nightmare mode it takes maybe a couple extra seconds to kill the normal mob groups, but the elite guys are pretty much like fighting any of the act bosses on Normal.

I ran into a monk that survived for a while in an act 3 inferno game. It was adorable. He'd run in, stun, hit a few combos and then run away.

Kind of pointless, but I guess it's better than instantly dying.

Meh. If Diablo III had a federal reserve system with fiat currency, and you could choose a character that existed to change that, I'd be interested in playing.

just hit level 45 with monk tonight. 7 sided strike, way of hundred fists, whatever the skill is that gives you a damage aura, and healing mantra + the rune that restores spirit over time are all pretty boss.

that ability to generate spirit by normal attacks, then generate life from spirit attacks, is pretty sweet. do other classes have a similar capability to this?

as a lvl 23 monk, my standard approach for a group of monsters w/ champion or some ranged guy is to do dashing strike (like a teleport attack that usually roots them) into the middle of a group, cyclone (draws enemies closer in a radius and deals damage), then the roundhouse kick, that deals fire damage and a big knock back on everyone. the damage taken on the opening move is usually totally offset by using the spirit attacks. normal attacks on the split-up enemies then build back plenty of spirit. it's really fun.

I think the lifesteal is generally a lot higher for melee. Barbarians have similar functionality.

Getting hit/hitting gives them fury. Fury can be used on abilities that steal life.

I guess signature spells can be made to give Wizards Arcane and Magic Weapon Rune can give life on attacks attacks but for casters it's too many lost skill slots for what you get out of it.

Man DS9 was good. Maybe because I grew up on it, and never could get into TOS because it was too corny, but I'd put DS9 in second.

i ain't ever actually watched Have Gun Will Travel, but yeah, probably like that. kirk has old west swagger and bangs hot alien babes. you know, zap brannigan, sans the caricature. it's like a fun shoot-em-up less-pretentious TNG.
